The Catholic Bishop of Sokoto State Dioceses, Mathew Kukah, has stated that he is ready to apologize to the Muslim Islam Organization, if the organization could prove its allegation that he abused Islam in his New Year, 2021 New Year sermon.
Bishop Kukah challenged the Islamic Organization to show any part of his sermon that insulted Islam.
Kukah also accused the Islamic Organization of attempting to set him up against the Muslim Community because his sermon focused mainly on what he termed, “the painful things of nepotism”.
A group calling itself Muslim Solidarity Forum has asked Bishop Kukah to apologize to the Muslim Community or leave Sokoto State, stressing that Kukah’s sermon was capable of instigating violence in Nigeria.
Professor Isah Meishal at a press Conference in Sokoto, said; Kukah’s message was “uncharitable, targeted at Islam”.
