OGUN ASSEMBLY PREVENTS JOURNALISTS FROM COVERING AMOSUN’S AIDE QUESTIONING SESSION

According to Platform Times, “in what seems like a mild drama at the Ogun State House of Assembly in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, some journalists were barred from covering the questioning session of the former Managing Director of Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation, OPIC, Jide Odusolu.”

The journalists barred include: the Punch Newspaper correspondent, Daud Olatunji, senior reporter of Platform Times, Olasunkanmi Akinlotan and another reporter of the same media outfit, Sodiq Ojurongbe, reporter of Blue Print, Hakeem Adegbenro, Daily Post reporter, Ishola Oludare.

Others are; Publisher of encounter news online, this day newspaper, Kayode Fasua.

Operatives of the Department of State Security Service insisted that journalists cannot be allowed to take part in the session, but findings showed that; reporters of the State owned television station, OGTV, are present inside the committee room where the questioning took place.

When confronted with claims that state government paid journalists are inside the committee room, the DSS operatives however manned up to say ‘the journalists the Assembly needed for the covering of the session have been allowed in’.

The security operatives further stressed that “except someone from above can clear you, you can’t be allowed into the session”.

A source told PLATFORM TIMES senior reporter that “The journalists that are allowed in for sinister reasons known to them are; the correspondent of Sun newspaper, New Agency of Nigeria, and OGTV reporters”.

All efforts to get the Assembly media aide prove abortive as they refused to pick or return calls put across to them as at the time of filling this report.
