EndSars protesters in Ogun State, Nigeria, have made many hundreds of people in Ogun state to be stranded.
According to our correspondents film stars based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria likes Odunlade Adekola, Bolaji Amusan, the President of Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producer Association of Nigeria (TAMPPAN) who mobilized the actors/actresses, supported the protest stressing that the Police brutality must stop.
Eye witness account disclosed that the protesters blocked the NNPC axis of the Abeokuta Sagamu Road, making it hard for the public/civil servants to resume for work at the Governor’s office and the state secretariat.
According to report, the protesters blocked the axis from 6am on Monday 19/10/2020, the lock-down extended from Kuto to Kobape blocking movement of vehicles coming into Abeokuta and into Governor’s office and other Government offices at Oke-Mosan several people are also resulting trekking to reach their destination in the axis.
Camp/Osiele, Ibadan road witnessed protesters road bloc. Papalanto, Sango-Ota showed protesters mounting roadblock thus, preventing vehicles movement.
Students of Primary and Secondary Schools were also affected, trekking to their various schools and back home.
In a related development, hoodlums broke into Benin prison, setting inmates free.
Many prisoners escaped from prison as suspected hoodlums attacked the White House prison along Sapele Road in the City.
According to report, the armed squad of prison officials engaged the suspected hoodlums in gun battle which left some prisoners injured.
Eye witness account indicated that High Court 4 which is beside the prison was also vandalized by the hoodlums.
Some inmates escaped with gunshots while an elderly prisoner was recaptured while walking away like a passersby.
Meanwhile President Buhari, according to Mr Sunday Dare Minister of Youth and Sports Development at the State House, Abuja, on Monday quoted Buhari to have advised the youths to always be on the alert so that miscreants would not take advantage of their genuine intention.
