Chief Revd. Tola Oyediran, Chief Obafemi Awolowo’s eldest daughter is dead.
According to a dependable source, her transition occurred couple of hours ago, Friday 16th October.
Aged 79, she would have celebrated her 80th birthday on 1st December 2020.
Fondly called “Mama Ibadan, before her death, she was the Chairman, Board of Directors of African Newspapers of Nigerian, and publishers of Nigerian Tribune.
Married to Prof. Oyediran, Ex-vice Chancellor, University of Ibadan, her death leaves Dr. Olatokunbo Awolowo Dosunmu as the only surviving daughter of the Awolowo’s dynasty.
Contacted for his reaction, a top journalist at the Tribune Newspaper said “I’m not competent to confirm, but she is dead”
