Prof. John Pepper Clark has died after a brief illness.

According to a statement signed by Prof. CC Clark, “the Clark, Fududu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo town, Delta State wishes to announce that emeritus Prof of Literature and renowned writer, Prof. John Pepper Clark, has finally dropped his pen in the early hours of Tuesday 13th October, 2020”.

Aged 85, the great playwright, poet, griot, has written more than 20 plays, several collection of poems and prose.

Survived by Prof. Ebun Clark, children and grandchildren, one of his great controversial novel is titled: “America, their America.”
