The senate on Tuesday asked all the service chiefs to resign forthwith over deteriorating security situation in the country
This was sequel to the adoption of a point of order moved by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, Senator Ali Ndume, over the recent killing of soldiers by insurgents.
According to him, the service chiefs should bow out honorably as they have been overwhelmed by rising situation in the country
Senator Betty Apiafi seconded the motion and it was upheld by the Senate president.
In his remarks, Senate President, Dr. Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan expressed concern at the large number of military officers who are leaving the war front. He said there was no need for government to look into what is happening wrongly in the military.
