POLICE ARRAIGNED HERBALIST, 50, AND FIVE OTHERS FOR KEEPING HUMAN PALMS AT HOME

Five people and a herbalist, 50, have been arraigned before an Abeokuta chief magistrates, court for being in possession of two human palms in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The accused Ejero Michael, Idoso Matthew, Samuel Agboola, John Feyisetsan and Patrick Johnson pleaded not guilty on the two-count of conspiracy and for possession of other human parts.

The prosecutor, Bukola Abolade discosed to the court that the five accused committed the crime last May at Ibara in Abeokuta.

One of the accused, a herbalist, according to the prosecutor, had directed four persons to produce two human palms as part of the ingredients needed to prepare money ritual concoction for them.

Matthew Idoso, another accused, later contacted a family friend in company of two other persons now at large, who provided the needed palms.

The chief magistrate I.O Abudu, in her ruling admitted bail for each of the four of the accused in the sum of five hundred thousand naira with two sureties in the same amount

The chief magistrate, however, refused to bail plea that the fifth accused Patrick Johnson who pleaded guilty to be reprimanded at police custody pending the perfection of the bail conditions.

For further hearing, the case has been adjourned till July 31st
