President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the relaxation of inter-state travel restriction as he extended covid-19 lockdown for another four weeks beginning on Tuesday and ending on July 27.

According to the chairman of the presidential covid 19 task force, Boss Mustapha at the Covid 19 update media briefing in Abuja, the lockdown is been extended with some modification. The inter State travel will be allowed as from Tuesday except during the curfew hours of 10pm – 4am.

Also arrangements are to be made for the re-opening of some of the schools for final year students in primary and secondary schools to prepare for their external examination.

Mustapha however says the curfew hours remain while worship centers will still be closed. Banks are also allowed to operate normal working hours while a maximum of 20 persons would be allowed at wedding and burial ceremonies.

Meanwhile, Nigeria Union of Teachers has rejected the partial re-opening of primary and secondary schools being announced in the phase two of the lockdown.

According to Ministry of Health 18 death cases have so far been recorded and 539 of the total confirmed cases have been discharged following a successful management.

Investigation by NCDC reveals that Ado-Odo/Ota LG in Ogun State accounts for 60% of total infections in Nigeria.
