Governor Abiodun has closed down one of the two functioning model colleges established by Amosun in Ogun Central Senatorial district.
Built by Senator Amosun’s Government near Akin-ale, along Lagos Abeokuta Express way, and named Akin-Ogunpola Model College, at the cost of over #15billion.
According to Rock City Fm radio, students in the college have been distributed to some of the other public secondary schools in Ogun State.
It was gathered that the model college at Akin-ale was shut down over failure to enroll fresh pupils for the 2019/2020 academic session.
Investigation revealed that most of the top aides of the former Governor Ibikunle Amosun had withdrawn their children from the college last term.
The development, according to dependable sources, has affected the maintenance bills of the college. Teachers employed for the model college resumed duty on Monday and remained in school without students till mid day.
Further investigation indicated that the model college commenced operation in 2016 with 60 students admitted into the Junior Secondary School one and two classes.
According to the inquiry made by the Rock City Fm, in 2017 each pupil pays #400,000 per term which was reduced to #150,000 due to poor patronage.
Reports show that the only model college now functioning at Kobape has been converted by the Abiodun administration into Information Technology building.
