Two TASCE lecturers and three non academic staff of Tai Solarin College of Education (TASCE), Omu, Ijebu have been arraigned before Abeokuta Magistrates’ court for robbery and stealing.
According to legal officer of the Ogun State police command, Abeokuta Opeyemi Adekunle, “the accused are Daniel Aborishade, Chairman Coalition college staff, Ebun Oluwatobi, Seyi Akinola, Odunsi Omobolaji, Labake Bakere.
Opeyemi Adekunle, revealed to the court that “the accused between January and July 2019 allegedly broke into the office of the head of institution’s audit department and stole some payment vouchers and other documents belonging to the institution”
He alleged that “the accused persons also robbed Abiola Zainab, the wife of the Deputy Provost, by hijacking her husband’s official cars which contains #120,000 cash, handset, and other valuable goods.”
According to our investigation, the accused were apprehended by the law enforcement agents at the governor’s office where they had gone for a meeting at the office of the chief of staff to the governor.
In her ruling, the magistrate, Bolanle Adebowale ordered the accused to be remanded in prison custody pending legal advise from the office of the public prosecution, or bailed with #500,000 with two sureties.
She adjourned the case till November 4, 2019.
