Former Minister of Finance, Dr Onalapo Soleye has charged Nigerian youths to go into politics and grab power in order to ensure a greater and better Nigeria for their future.
Dr. Soleye advised in an interview with journalists in Abeokuta at a ceremony organized by the Egba Economic Summit, where he was honoured with an Economic Pillar award for his contributions to Egba land.
The Ex-minister who refused to blame the youth as some people do, said “it is what they see from the elders and the leaders that they emulate.”
He added “If the youth see integrity and fairness from the elders they will follow”
The octogenarian, who also referred to his generation “as the vanishing generation, urged the youth to channel a situation that will make Nigeria to be great, adding that the way things are going, Nigeria cannot be great.
Earlier in his welcome address the President of the Egba Economic Summit, Engr. Tokunbo Odebunmi said the Summit organized the event to appreciate the virtue and contributions of the recipient to the economic development of Egba land.
Dignitaries at the event, in their separate goodwill messages lauded the simple and modest life style of Dr. Onaolapo Soleye.
