A professional Geo- scientist and an astute public servant whose contribution to the development of Ogun State most especially in the area of mining and geoscience is unquantifiable, Steves Olusegun Ipinniwa was born on 13th January, 1958 in Mopa Amuro now Kogi State, Nigeria.
He began his educational career at Oke-AGI local government primary school, Kogi State in the year 1967 and finished in 1972. He quickly followed it up with his secondary school education by attending the famous ECWA secondary school, Mopa also in Kogi State in 1972 from where he obtained the West African school certificate (WASC) in 1976. The strong passion to improve his attainment in education particularly at the tertiary level propelled the young steves Olusegun to proceed to the Kwara state school of Basic studies, Kwara State in 1977 from where he obtained the Higher school certificate (HSC) which qualified him to proceed to the University. He was admitted to the popular University of Ilorin, Kwara State in 1979 to study Geology and graduated with a Bachelor Degree (BSC) in the year 1983. He later capped it with a postgraduate Master’s Degree (MSC) also in Geology at the nation’s premier tertiary institution, University of Ibadan, Oyo state in 1993.
WORKING EXPERIENCE: The working experience of Steves Olusegun Ipinniwa could be linked to the Biblical story of Moses whose mother took him to the river-bank in order not to witness his slaughter following the directive by King Pharaoh that all newly born male children should be killed. Moses, the child of destiny according to the Bible was discovered by the wife/son of King Pharaoh who ordered that he should not only be spared but taken to Emperor’s palace for better care. Steves Ousegun Ipinniwa initially came to Ogun state when he was deployed for the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) assignment in 1984. As a result of his exemplary services during that period, he was nominated as the Best NYSC member of the year in Ogun State for that session and was therefore given automatic employment by the government in 1985 as an Assistant secretary (AS). Between 1985 -1988 he worked as an Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Abeokuta.
Being a trained geologist, Steves Olusegun Ipinniwa is like a golden fish that cannot hide itself. He was moved to the industrial Promotion Department, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Abeokuka.
An articulate professional in his field, Mr. Steves OLusegun Ipinniwa is somebody who has special interest in other areas thereby making it absolutely necessary for him to be a member of the following bodies:
• Nigeria Mining and Geo-sciences society (NMGS)
• Council of Nigeria and Mining Engineers and Geo-sciences (COMEG)
• Programme Manager for small and Medium Scale Enterprises (U.S.A assisted programme 1991-1999).
Extension and Professional Services to Granite and Potential Cement Manufacturers in Ogun State since 1988 till date.
Mr. Steves Olusegun Ipinniwa, a Christian of Evangelical church of West Africa (ECWA) denomination is happily married to an Egba indigene with fine children.
